The Sabre 362 is a Maine-built bluewater cruising sloop with a fin keel, spade rudder, and the cherry interior the line is known for. This 1998 hull, "Enigma", is USCG documented and has been on Lake Erie under her current owner since 2021.
Power is a Yanmar 3JH3E diesel with 1,345 hours, paired with a recently rebuilt Kanzaki KBW10 transmission (April 2025, under 400 hours on the gears and shafts) and a MaxProp feathering propeller. The electrical system has been upgraded to a 412 Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) house bank with a Victron 12/2000/80-50 inverter/charger and Raspberry Pi GX running Venus OS for remote monitoring.

Why This Boat
Sabres have a reputation for build quality that holds up. The 362 sits in the sweet spot for Lake Erie — large enough to cross the lake comfortably, small enough to single-hand, and shoal enough at 6'6" to keep most Erie harbors open to you. Cherry joinery throughout, sleeping for seven across a forward master, aft guest cabin, and salon, and a mid-ship head with a full enclosed shower make her a real cruiser rather than a weekender. The recently rebuilt transmission and modern lithium electrical system are expensive items already addressed.
Sail inventory includes a Sobstad main and 135 genoa (roughly six years old, low usage) plus a Sobstad asymmetric with sock. Raymarine electronics, Standard Horizon VHF, MOB tag system, full Rayco canvas and screen enclosure for the cockpit, 25 lb CQR with chain and rode, Navtec backstay adjuster, and a complete spares and tool kit come with the boat.
