Why This Boat
The 2700 Open is a Tiara open express with a single-level cockpit. It runs on a deep-V hull with 22 degrees of deadrise at the transom, 27' long (29' 5" with the pulpit) with a 10' beam and a 2' draft. The cabin has a large V-berth that converts to a forward dinette, a galley with sink, refrigerator, stovetop, and microwave, a Kenwood stereo, and an enclosed stand-up head with a flush toilet. Gunwale rod holders and a full-width stern bench make the cockpit work for fishing or a day on the lake.
Twin inboards mean no outdrive bellows or gimbals to maintain. Closed freshwater cooling keeps lake water out of the engine blocks. The 5.7L is a GM small-block V-8, and parts and mechanics who know it are easy to find around Lake Erie.
Condition & Next Steps
The upholstery is in good shape but has some staining from a sticky residue. The boat needs a good wax and a detailed cleaning. It got a basic soap and water wash the week of November 2 to clear off bugs, dust and dirt.
